Signing up for the Assisted Payroll service

  1. Review the checklist to ensure that you've gathered everything you need to sign up for Assisted Payroll.

  2. Contact the payroll service for pricing and availability.

    Assisted Payroll is not available to all employers in all areas. Discuss your options with a payroll service representative before continuing with the sign-up process.

  3. Use the payroll setup interview to set up your payroll in QuickBooks. The payroll setup interview not only guides you through payroll setup, but through the payroll service sign-up process as well.

    If you've already set up your payroll or are upgrading from another QuickBooks Payroll Service, choose Add/Change Payroll Service from the Employees menu.

  4. Complete the Welcome Packet forms and send them to the payroll service.

    Incomplete forms will delay the start of the service.

  5. Check your payroll data for missing or inaccurate information.

    At the end of the interview, go online and send your payroll information (using your PIN) to the payroll service.

  7. Back up your QuickBooks data.

    We recommend that you back up your data frequently so you can still do payroll, should something happen to your computer or data site.
